A personal journal of the doings and activities of my life. I do not remember the past very well, if at all. This is a way for me to keep track of it a little. Sort of a jump drive for my brain.

Today's photo challenge: Brown
I started collecting pottery around 2012. I have loved learning about the processes around pottery. The one that looks like a basket weave actually is a basket covered in pitch which was a technique to help it hold up. I bought it from a trading post near Cortez NM. The tiny one in the front looks a lot like a seed pot. And the other one (purchased from a thrift store) has an interesting burned/smoked coloring on it.
I also liked the texture of this faux croc brown table

Today's photo challenge: Oldest item you still wear
I think my grandmother gave me this necklace in 1976 or 1977. I know I was in Jr High. I think she gave my sister Robin one too. These were supposed to represent leis. My grandparents were living in Hawaii on the island of Oahu at the time and they'd come to spend a couple of weeks with us most of the summers when we lived in Taylor.

Today's photo challenge: A favorite tool
1. I use this pan all the time, my mom gave it to me when I was married for the first time.
2. Obviously this or its ilk are much used and loved. My best set is in my car and I'm too lazy to go back out and get them.
3. Probably more what they expected. Shanna Semenza gave me this as a present years ago. The tip switches between Philips and flat head screwdrivers.

Today's photo challenge: Time
I asked for suggestions since the only thing I could think of was a clock.
Marjanna: Hour glass? Sundial? Or two things side by side—one old and one new.
Kathy: Calendar, baby picture/current picture, different seasons
John: Fossils

John: Fossils
Here's my photo. The sculptural piece is a set of Orthoceras fossils which were water dweller of the Ordovician. They are black and standing on their tails. The fossil fish is a member of the Clupeidae family from the Eocene. The petrified wood is of unknown time/location, and an hourglass that Shanna lent me. Yes she had it in her office at work.

Today's photo challenge: Something organized
I love to organize things. All the things. I believe in containers and piles and my organization does not match up with professional organization. That's my physical life. Example: Scarf drawers
My e life is super organized. This is a photo of my LibraryThing where I have all of my books and movies cataloged. I've also got Google drive folders that track everything, such as travel plans & packing lists, to be read & recommended books lists, and a Xmas planning lists/tracking documents.

Today's photo challenge: Turquoise
My jewelry collection... I am obsessed with Turquoise.
There are many pieces with stories. Gifts from my mom - the Native American fetish necklace on the upper right, the circle pendant from my sister Robin. The abalone pendant from the Native Arts fair in Anchorage with Arlene, the brass mandala pendant from my visit with friends in California. The orange/turquoise ring from the Fort Hall pow wow with Sydney, the other rings from the trading post in New Mexico with Shanna when driving back and forth to Texas. The big bracelet from a rock shop visit with friends in Ogden UT. The tufa stone cast ring by the fetish necklace also from the trading post. The small squash blossom necklace on the lower right that I wore in high school, then my grandmother wore it for many years and it returned to me when she passed on. So many memories in one silver dish memories of loved ones, dear ones, friends, and adventures.

Today's photo challenge: A prism or rainbow
I finally got a rainbow effect through a crystal. My quartz crystal ball has a lot of inclusions and makes the most interesting shapes when light is focused through it.
